Description: Originally published by Houghton Mifflin and Company in 1906, Charles Frederick Holder’s introduction to salt water big game fishing covers almost every species of large salt water fish to be found off the Florida Keys, where Holder lived for five or six years. He also recounts fishing on the California coast, around Cape Cod, and other regions. A brief section of Holder’s log does touch on some distinctly dated and chauvinistic attitudes toward African Americans in the comments of a fellow fisherman.
These handsome editions of classic fishing books are printed on cream stock with generous margins and gilt-edged pages, have marbled endpapers, and are bound in embossed leather covers with gold stamping.
