Description: Presented in 3/4 laminated, gold-stamped covers with green linen spines and laminated, illustrated slipcases, these two volumes from the Chinese Art Foundation’s Chinese Jades Throughout the Ages focus on jade pieces from the Qing dynasty, with a view to clarifying the doubts about the so-called “craftsmanship characteristic of the Qian Long Period.” Together these long out-of-print and rare catalogs depict 210 superbly carved objects for religious, ceremonial, and daily use-including clear crystal, lapis lazuli, agates, and white jade, along with green jadeite-in large color plates with English and Chinese descriptions.
